About Us

What does Anajali mean?
Anajali means He Cares in Swahili. God does care about these all of these children.

What is Anajali Ministries, Inc.?

Anajali Ministries, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization committed to bringing education and hope to the poorest children living in Nairobi's Kibera slum. We work closely with Wellingtone Nabwoba who founded the  Anajali School in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya and is the head teacher there.  Donations help purchase food, electricity, clean water and safety for the students and staff of the Anajali School.   Tuition, teachers' salaries, and supplies are also provided through gifts and the sponsorship of Anajali students.  All donations are fully tax-deductible.

What is the Sponsorship Program?
Student sponsorship is currently suggested at two levels. $240 a year or $20 per month will sponsor a child to attend the Anajali School. For $1,000 a year or $100 per month for ten months, you can sponsor a student to go to high school. Sponsors will receive a picture of their child and will be able to communicate with him/her when mission trips go to Anajali. Without an education these children are trapped in an unending cycle of poverty.

Who founded Anajali Ministries, Inc.?
Anajali Ministries, Inc. was founded by Anne Blodgett, a 1st & 2nd grade teacher, who visited the school in August of 2007 while on a church mission trip. Anne was moved by the children's spirits and their need. In January of 2008 she decided to do what she could and has started speaking and raising awareness in the hopes to help fund the need.
